Apologies, but I haven’t had much of a chance to write an informative and considered blog post this week (nothing new there then…)
My crime-busting alter ego Spudman has been hard at work writing a Hearing Statement for our upcoming planning appeal, which is now available for you to read – as fine a cure for insomnia as you’ll ever encounter. Boring work, yes, but necessary – and on the upside if you have any questions about the minutiae of the Somerset and Exmoor Joint Structure Plan, then Spudman is your man. I’m looking forward to reading the council’s own statement with their further considered opinions as to why farmers shouldn’t be allowed to actually live on their farms.
Meanwhile I took my son Spudboy to see Neil Young play in Birmingham as a birthday present – another reason I’ve not had much of a chance to write anything this week. Pleasing to see that in his dotage Neil is getting very on-message with environmentalism, with his version of ‘Walk Like A Giant’ devoted to the urgent need to heal the planet. It certainly gave us all something to ponder as we headed out afterwards into the 26,000 place car park and drove the long miles home.
Back at Vallis Veg, we were pleased to host the closing ceremony for the inaugural year’s intake of the excellent Edventure project, which has brought a great bunch of energetic and committed young people to Frome this year. I hope we’ll be able to continue working with them in the future.
And that’s all for now – next week I aim to share with you some information on my diesel bills, which is more interesting than it sounds. Or alternatively perhaps some musings on an article from the Aberdeen and North East Scotland Family History Society Journal, ditto. Both a darned sight more interesting than the Somerset and Exmoor Joint Structure Plan, at any rate.
Thanks for showing us your hearing statement, Chris. An excellent document which could provide a good model for use in other cases. Good luck with the appeal!
